Bark Scorpion – Bark scorpions are a yellowish-tan color and average about 3 inches in length. They prefer cooler, damper environments and are climbers, so you might find them just about anywhere. They are commonly found under rocks, beneath tree bark, and indoors in air-conditioned spaces. The bark scorpion’s sting is the most venomous in North America, and they will attack if they feel threatened.
Emperor Scorpion – Emperor scorpions are relatively harmless and are often kept as popular exotic pets. They average about 8 inches in length and have shiny black bodies. Emperor scorpions typically live in large numbers and rarely use their stinger for defense. When they do sting, they may not even inject venom, and most of the time, you’ll only feel a painful pinch.
Desert Hairy Scorpion – The desert hairy scorpion can grow up to 15 centimeters long and is usually tan or green. These scorpions are also a common exotic pet, but they prefer to find shade from the hot Las Vegas sun. These scorpions only sting if provoked and have very weak venom, often compared to a bee sting.
